The Nokia N800, introduced in January 2007, was the first internet tablet from Nokia that featured a FM tuner chip (without RDS unfortunately).
And now the popular FM Radio application from the N900 is coming to the N800 real soon! I'm currently working on N800 support in the application so that both devices will be sharing a common code-base.
since I am moving in two city often. I want to switch my fm station profile or list. I could do it in xterm console, that's not a big deal. But I can't find any files was used by this application.
Hello, Great development so far. I really need to know: Is there a way to force the radio to always play in stereo? When I tune to a station with clear reception I hear stereo OK. Right after I tune to a frequency with poor reception, I can hear it stereo for just a flash of a second then it goes back to mono. I want it to play in stereo all the time, no matter how bad is the reception and not for a flash of second. I have no problem to hear an extra wide-static noise - a reasonable price for me. In Qt mobile there is an X-terminal method ctrl+D should force stereo. Can the FM radio application be optimize in a similar way?
Martin had his first contact with Python in the year 2000, and his first internet tablet was a Nokia 770 in October 2005. Soon he realized that Python is the perfect language for programming these tablets.
In real life Martin works as a consultant and software engineer mostly in Unix and Linux environments.

Is it a radio tuner or a radio emitter? I certainly would be interested in a radio emitter, so I could use it to play music in my car :)
It's a radio tuner. The N800 has no FM transmitter.
Does that mean the N900 does have RDS?
Yes, the N900 has RDS. Both, transmitter and receiver support RDS on the N900.
So good to see the N800 isn't completely forgotten by developers. ;)
Thank you!
is there any possible to back up my station list?
